Evolution of Traditional Nasi Lemak. Malaysia.

Traditionally, Nasi Lemak (coconut milk rice) is a simple food for breakfast among Malaysians. Fragrant coconut milk rice served with chili paste, dried anchovies, peanuts and boiled egg, wrapped in a banana leaf.

The light meal serves as a good breakfast choice for its energy supply, tastiness and affordable price (RM1.50 per packet).

Today, Nasi Lemak has been evolved into many versions, where customisation can be done according to meal plan. Nasi Lemak for lunch and dinner normally served with curry chicken, beef rendang, sambal sotong or choice of your favourite meat or seafood. Boiled egg on the other hand also can be replaced by sunny side up or omelette.
