Japanese Curry Rice 「カレーライス」Japan.

IMG_2995-0

I read an article recently about how British learnt making curry from the Indian hundres years ago. They found it too spicy to handle, hence when they return to England, they use the same method with less spice and chillies to reduce the spiciness.

The British then introduced the ‘less spicy’ curry recipe to the Japanese, and Japnese Curry was inveted with almost the same level of spiciness. Only in 1960s’ after much trials and errors the Japanese invented Instant Japanese Curry.

It’s what I used today for a quick Japanese Curry fix. White rice with any ingredients you like for the day, top it with a packet of heated Japanese Curry! It’s that easy!

Today I feel like having sausages, corn croquette, carrot and potato 😋
