Bak Kut Teh (Meat, Ribs, Tea) is a foodie journey one must take when in Klang, south of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Thick herb soup, pork ribs, tendon, stomach, beancurd, enoki mushroom all in a pot. It is rather heartwarming, especially on a rainy day. Bak Kut Teh can be served as breakfast, lunch or dinner, actually any time of the day, provided you are a “RICE” person for the morning as it’s served with white rice.
The greatest invention of food, is not Bak Kut Teh itself. To me, it’s the person who actually introduced the idea of dipping You Tiao (Chinese fried dough) into the soup! When the dough is soaked with the thick soup, it’s heaven. Whoever that is, thank you for making eating so adventurous!
So I must say:
Eating Bak Kut Teh without You Tiao, is like having Roti Pratha without Curry!
