Churros with Chocolate is a based snack in Spain. Spanish have them for breakfast and tea time. It’s sinful, from my point of view, for that really thick chocolate dip. But it’s also a sin for not trying it when one is in Spain.
There are many versions of Churros within Spain itself, from the norther Basque region to southern Andalusia region, they make the dough with different method, and name it differently.
Legend has it the Portuguese brought back the concept of “YouTiao” to Europe while discovering China. They modified it with the new culinary techniques they brought back from China to a start design they didn’t learn the Chinese skill of pulling the dough with bare hands.
